Frequently Asked Questions
When should I arrive?
If you’re traveling from out of town, we recommend arriving by Friday afternoon at the latest. Please feel free to arrive as early in the week as you would like if you’re interested in spending a bit more time in Charlottesville. We have planned an informal gathering on Thursday night for those in town.
Is the wedding indoors our outdoors?
The wedding ceremony and cocktail hour will both be outdoors, while dinner and the reception will be indoors. In the event of inclement weather, all outdoor events will shift into indoor spaces.
What should I wear to the events?
For Friday’s Welcome Party, please wear cocktail attire. For the wedding on Saturday, we are requesting black tie.
Where can I get a tuxedo?
If you are interested in renting a tuxedo for the weekend, we recommend TheBlackTux.com. They offer great rental tuxedos that are delivered to your doorstep and can easily be returned after the event via UPS. We’re fans of the classic Peak Lapel Tuxedo and Shawl Collar Tuxedo.
Will food be served at the Welcome Party?
We will be serving passed hors d'oeuvres, so recommend having something to eat before the event. If you’re arriving later in the afternoon or just want to stay on property for dinner, The Mill Room at the Boar’s Head is excellent. Reservations are typically required, so make yours soon.
Will there be a farewell brunch on Sunday?
We will be gathering for an informal brunch with our families in the Mill Room on Sunday morning. Feel free to make a reservation or swing by for a quick hello before you leave the resort - we would love to see you!
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions? Who should I tell if I have a food allergy?
Please include any dietary restrictions or allergy information in the provided space on your RSVP card.
Are kids welcome?
Although we love your little ones, this is an adults-only affair. Thank you for your understanding!
